GS Pay Scales is an independent educational resource. We prioritize primary federal sources, especially the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, for salary tables, locality definitions, and pay-system guidance.

We distinguish official salary data from explanatory estimates. When a calculator converts annual pay into monthly, biweekly, or hourly equivalents, the page labels those figures as planning estimates unless the value comes directly from an official table.

Corrections are handled by comparing the disputed value with the relevant official source, pay year, locality, grade, and step. We avoid silently replacing historical values with current-year figures.
